Just under £5,000 pounds has been awarded in the recent 2015 bursary window, with 30 clubs and individuals such as Clwb Rhedeg Pontardawe Running Club, Get Hooked on Fishing and Olney Junior Hockey Club  benefiting from funding from the Torch Trophy Trust.

A record amount of bursaries were received from all around the UK and considered by the Trustees, who decided to give funding for courses such as Coaching Hockey Level 2, CTC Ride Leaders courses, Rescue and Rolling courses and First Aid.

One such recipient, Hakan (who has an ambition of becoming a qualified football coach) from Fitzrovia Youth in Action, has already started his 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football,. According to the group ‘Hakan being qualified will be a great step for him as a young person and will benefit the younger people who attend our coaching sessions, as Hakan will be able to assist the other coaches in providing higher quality coaching sessions.’

The County of Lancaster Small-Bore Target Shooting Association has also been able to use their bursary to send volunteers to NSRA Instructor courses, all of whom passed! Their
names and application forms have been forwarded to NSRA for processing and registration as Club Instructors.

The Trust looks forward to hearing how all recipients do with their respective courses!
