Anne Holloway (Warwickshire) – Nominated by British Blind Sport
Anne contacted British Blind Sport (BBS) in the run up to the Paralympic Games and said ‘I’m so inspired, what can I do to help?’
Since being with BBS, Anne has assisted with setting up sporting events, worked tirelessly supporting the classification programme and finally helped set up and then solely manage a new programme to raise the profile and importance of safeguarding in sport.
She has delivered a new training programme for the organisation’s volunteer network and put in a place system through which BBS can be more confident it is safeguarding its membership.
BBS has rolled out an education programme this year and, with her teaching experience, Anne has been a vital player to help coaches and teachers across the UK deliver sport for the visually impaired.
Even in her spare time, Anne makes a point to attend BBS meetings to meet member and learn more. As a result of this, she has discovered a new found passion for VI cricket!
Anne’s hardworking and dedicated nature rubs off on all those who come across her. She always comes to work with a smile on her face, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Anne hasn’t been with BBS long, but is already an invaluable asset.”
