16-year-old Ben Meadows has Cerebral Palsy, right sided hemiplegia. He loves all sports but his real passion is football. He is the goalkeeper for the U17’s North West Regional Talent Centre (hosted by CP United FC) and has also had trials for England U19’s.
Ben completed his Football Junior Leaders course last year as part of the “Futures Programme” that CP United provide and has since been an active member, coaching the foundation and tots sessions, as well as being a junior member of the committee at the club. During 2016 Ben was also part of the Liverpool County FA’s Young Coaches Academy and actively helps out with sessions alongside Mark Horlick (Disability Officer for LCFA) which includes coaching and refereeing pan disability football.
In February 2016 Ben was selected to be a Young Ambassador for the Step into Sport programme, which involved delivering projects on inclusive sports to Young Leaders from across the North West. Ben is a fantastic asset to all the organisations that he volunteers. He has shown dedication and enthusiasm in supporting grassroots sport across the region.
